Tackling Energy Poverty

Technologies

Lifelight

Lifelights use bright, highly fuel efficient LEDs, last for thousands of hours and are relatively non-toxic compared to fluorescent lighting. The Lifelight – now being developed – will use the same wind-up and solar technology as the radio to light up people’s lives through safe, clean, renewable energy.

Lifeline radio

The wind-up and solar-powered Lifeline radio is rugged, colourful, easy to use and carry, receives excellent AM/FM/SW and plays for 24 hours with a single charge. The radio design, refined over years of community use, provides sustainable access to information and education to the world’s poorest people.
