Tackling Energy Poverty

Our work in Kenya

Before the recent violence, Kenya was one of Africa’s most politically-stable countries, playing a lead role in regional peace processes involving Somalia and Sudan, These conflicts mean there are now over 240,000 refugees in Kenya. Great poverty remains despite increased tourism, as regular floods and droughts impact on the large agricultural industry. The introduction of free schooling has tremendously increased enrolments while radios have also widened access to education.
