Tackling Energy Poverty

Our work in Malawi

Despite economic improvements following the election of a new president in 1994, population growth in Malawi is still putting increasing pressure on agricultural lands and HIV/AIDS also continues to pose a major problem for the country. Communication difficulties mean that radio remains the main source of information for most citizens. A programme is being developed to improve Malawi’s infrastructure before financial support, as part of the Millenium Challenge Corporation initiative, can begin.
