Tackling Energy Poverty

Our work in Rwanda

The 1994 genocide left over a million orphans and destroyed the education system in Rwanda. Incredibly, this tragic situation paved the way for improvements through a new constitution, which has seen economic growth and reductions in poverty. However, stumbling blocks such as energy shortages and droughts continue to impact on a frail infrastructure, especially when HIV/AIDS continues to increase the number of child-headed households.
