Its great to be back at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. This is the 7th time that I’ve attended the WEF in Switzerland. There’s are lots of new faces as well as many familiar ones.

Today is why I do my life’s work. A colleague, and I spent the day in Bugasera, Rwanda in an area where prior to the genocide, the population was 64,000, afterwards 2,000. We spoke with 30 (50/50 female/male) child heads of households
Activities for the non-profits started early at CGI with a workshop aimed at IT advances and NGO executives. Sponsored by Microsoft and Ashoka, we heard various presentations and IT perspectives of specialists
I have lived and worked in Africa for 20 years and expect to live the rest of my life here. During this time I have spoken to hundreds, maybe even thousands of orphans and vulnerable children and young people who live in unimaginable poverty.
For two days now we have been working with Trust & Care, a local organisation run primarily by volunteers providing a variety of support to vulnerable children. Over two days we have met 40 children who are the heads of households.
Not only were they the first wives of a sultan I had ever met, I was the first person outside their family to ever meet with the Sultans of Air in Agadez.
